Every Hyrox Race includes a total of 8.7km or 5.4 miles of running broken into (8) one kilometer runs and an approximate .7km. of "Rox Zone", or the distance which you must run to enter the event and then return to the running course. The event was started in 2017 in Hamburg, Germany and while each event course is unique, the distance is standardized.

After each of the 1 kilometer runs you enter the "Rox Zone" and head towards the designated workout area. Once you complete the event, you head back out to the "rox zone", leave the exit arch and start another 1-kilometer run. The events and order of the events is the same at EVERY race.  They are in order: 1km Ski-Erg, 50m Sled Push, 50m

The race is the ultimate test of strength and endurance but accessible to EVERYONE. The movements are simple, and safe that is perfect for ANYONE looking for a fun challenge. There are different hyrox race divisions which each provide their own challenges.

The race is the ultimate test of strength and endurance but accessible to EVERYONE. The movements are simple, and safe that is perfect for ANYONE looking for a fun challenge. There are different hyrox race divisions which each provide their own challenges.


Age Groups:

Hyrox acknowledges that will it is possible to main and perform at a high level of fitness through your lifespan with proper training, diet and recovery, it also acknowledges the physiological changes that occur throughout the life span. Therefore, the race is broken up into age groups. While you may be in heats with people of all ages from 16-80 years old, you are competing for podium against people within your age group or average age group (doubles & relay). This applies to everyone except the TOP .00001% in the World who are chasing their dream of competing in the Elite 15 and Doubles Elite 15 which is compromised of the fastest athletes and teams in the World.


MULTIPLE WAYS TO RACE

There is more than 1 way to compete in a HYROX race! You can take it on solo, in a team of (2) or in a 4-person relay in which each athlete completes 2 runs and 2 events!
